About Jillian
Hello, I'm Jillian Yuzpe, a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), offering virtual therapy to clients across Ontario.
I believe therapy is a powerful and collaborative journey—one that doesn’t have to be walked alone. Whether you’re navigating grief, anxiety, low self-esteem, chronic illness, relationship challenges, or major life transitions, I provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, supported, and empowered to move forward.
My Approach
My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and personalized. I draw from evidence-based modalities, including:
-
Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC)
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
-
Client-Centered Therapy
I practice from a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive lens and tailor each session to your unique needs, goals, and lived experiences.
My Background
Before becoming a therapist, I spent a decade as a Chartered Accountant and am also a qualified teacher. I tutored in a lower socio-economic area—an experience that deepened my commitment to accessible, equitable care. I’m also a mother and co-parent to three incredible kids.
Clinical Experience
My practicum was completed at a women’s shelter for pregnant and new mothers, where I supported individuals navigating trauma, relational challenges, and the emotional complexities of early motherhood.
Since then, I’ve worked with individuals experiencing various forms of loss—including divorce and separation, chronic illness and pain, major life transitions, and the loss of a sense of self. These experiences have deepened my understanding of how loss can affect identity, relationships, and emotional well-being—and how therapy can support healing, clarity, and renewed connection with oneself.
Why I Do This Work
My path to becoming a psychotherapist was deeply personal. Supporting a loved one through mental health challenges—and going through my own therapy—taught me how essential support, compassion, and insight are to healing.
As Carl Rogers said, “The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.” This belief sits at the heart of my work with clients.
Who I Work With
I support adults and adolescents through grief, anxiety, chronic illness, self-esteem issues, parenting challenges, and life transitions.
Together, we can create a space where clarity, connection, and self-compassion can thrive.
